fun stuff

Almost every day on my way to work, I tell the guy riding with me some story about one of my kids. The latest was about Niklaus, my 3 year old.
My wife was running Matthew to karate and left me with Ya-ya and Bocker( Niklaus). The other girls were who-knows-where. Ya-ya was sleeping so I told Bocker to help me clean the garage up. Well he did, until he saw Christmas lights on a neighboring house. Then he proceeded to tell me that we can not have lights on our house because they will break and then the monster will come and he break more stuff but we can put up lights because they are neat but if we do the monster will come but it will be ok.
Confused yet ? I was.
After a day of work there is nothing better that talking to a 3 year old to set your mind straight...or crooked...or something.

cartoons; just for kids?

We have all watched tv on the local channels, most of us on cable, and some on sattelite. IT IS ALL SOFT PORN AND MORALLY CORRUPT. Even the commercials are embarrassing to watch when the youngens are near.
This is why I watch cartoons.
OOOOOH GOTTA GO, MY FAVORITE CARTOON JUST STARTED

football season/ five kids

Pre-season has begun. What a joyous time. Checking out your team's new pick-ups as well as other team's trades, looking at the Vike's schedule and planning football parties, participating in fantasy football, looking at stats; who is injured, who got their latest dwi or spousal abuse indictment (not that it is funny or anything, just need to know for their performance) .
Now the real problem. Not that its a PROBLEM per se, (my wife reads this junk too) but how to coordinate football around my family is tricky. I love my family dearly. I love football. But the majority of my family could care less if football existed.
I am asking all that read this for advice. How does one enjoy the football season, not neglect my family, and still make peace with those who I dare say are football haters?

Pondering of this and that

When I was in high school I was actually quite intelligent. I know it is quite a shock. Especially when it came to math and science. I was a natural. I was the kid who never did homework, but yet aced every test and missed 68 days of school my senior year. AND PASSED with a b- average (would have been higher but I did zero home-work) .

Now back in the day I was a little bit of a country rowdy,

little country, a little city, and a lot rebel. A country rebel. Thus the down fall of my post high school career. With to much drinking, lack of motivation(academically)and my pure laziness, I went from a college to the the college of hard knocks)

Now I would not change anything that I have done in the past. I have been married for 13 years, I have 5 kids, I am as healthy as I think I can be. I am also and most importantly ......Happy.

When I left college, I went into construction. I have done everything from framing houses to landscaping to very large commercial buildings. I think I have done almost everything in between.

The reason that I have told you all this is because sometimes when the weather is at it's extremes I wonder if the path I have chosen is the correct one. Today was one of those days. 97 degrees with a heat index of 106.

I think I did ok.

summertime,got no time

For all my long time fans, I do apoligizes for my lack of blogger activities. For the rest you look abouts...piss off.
So for a Mark up-date, he is doing great. His attitude is about as good or better then you could expect. There is a fundraiser for him on the 30th of july that my wife and I are planning to attend. Our anniversary is the next day so we have planned on getting a sitter for the youngin's and getting a hotel for the remainder of the evening (OH YEH).
This weekend and the following I have golf tournament (and I use the word tournament very loosely).
On the other weekends I spend them either at my brother -in-laws building stuff, or doing what my wife tells me to do (which by the way is not very much cause she loves me and I am kinda lazy unless there is a construction project that needs doing)....
That is all for now ............

Different work, different pain

Today I did a side job, doing something I have never done. I work in pre-cast concrete as a regular job, but today I was an electricion (Sort of).My friend picked up a side job doing the electrical on a 10 thousand square foot house and needed some help pulling wires, hanging cans and general grunt work.
After working a 9 hour day, I have realized that different jobs require different muscles.
My regular job is physically demanding, but I am sore from this so-called easier work.
I am whining and at the same time feeling a bit proud at the jod I did. Beer time (bed time)

Do squirrels really likes nuts?

This is for squirrel girl. I went to see Mark last Saturday and I was very impressed with his demeanor. His physical appearance was also very good. I met his mother and sister who are very sweet but worn out through this ordeal. Now as far as information about his accident, injuries and such I just did not have the NUTS(slight pun for the squirrel) to ask on my first visit.
His arm movements are good but his hand strength is not there yet. He can not hold his head up by himself but yet again with his therapy that will also improve.
We ( the guys that work with him) are planning to build a ramp for his house soon. My company contacted me this last Tuesday and ask if I could put a team together and they would pay for the materials. Finding help was not a problem.
That is pretty much all I know at this time.

squirrel I am doing as well as a fat 35 year old with 5 kids can.(Laura tells me I am also losing my hair and its graying) Other than that I am great. No really Am I really fat? No. She must be bustin my chops Or is she (nuts) , or am I? So confused....

not fact but still info (i think)

I had heard thru another foreman at my company more information about my friend Mark.
On the night in question Mark was on his way to visit his girlfriend, while driving his motorcycle and was t-boned by a car. While in the hospital there was swelling of the brian due to damage and swelling to his spinal cord. The doctor told his mother that either they had to remove the pressure to his spinal cord or he would die. The only way to do this was to severe the cord. He was not paralized because of the accident (per say) but because of the decision of his doctor and mother. Can you imagine being the mother having to make the call on that. My heart weeps for that family so much. I have nothing else to say.
Love you all

His name is Mark Klein. He was my laborer. He was also my friend. On friday March 17, he was in an accident.
I got the phone call on Sunday morning that he was in the hospital. He had just went thru 3 surgeries on his neck and back. I was told that he is paralized from his chest down. I have no more information about his condition as of now.
He is quite the fellow, always smiling, hard working, and always had my back in any situation. Good friend. I will write more later, this sucks.

Work is for Chumps...guess what I am?

For ten years now I have worked for the same company. In that amount of time I have called in sick, maybe three times, taken one vacation (1 week), worked countless hours of overtime, and went out of town for work sometimes for month's at a time.
I am not especially fond of work, or the sacrifices that one endures because of it, and I have decided at the grand old age of 34 that I am not a fan of it.
Now for those who've had a chance or an idea, to create, invent, or invest in something and have not, boo to you. Work sucks. Working for someone sucks more. I wish I would of had the brains and the guts to start a business of
of my own. Poor me
guess I had a bad day at work, I will get over it.

I'm not pregnant, but my WIFE IS!

So let's think about this for a minute...wifey,(full blooded, red headed, German) 9 months pregnant, 4 other kids, and me. I put all that in there for one reason only. I just want my OLD wife back. The one whose back, feet, neck, legs and bladder does not constantly interfere with your so-called everyday activity. Now, I know what your thinking, "What a selfish husband thinking of only himself!" . But NO, ok yes a little bit, well that is who I am. Don't like it? Well huh, it is the way it is. By the way, I love my wife and I guess I am writing this because we are near the end of this pregnancy and I hate this part. The pain my wife has to endure, the no sleep for weeks (months?) (for my wife, not as much me), and the tough adjustment for my four children to the new angel of our household. That's all. I hate typing. But, it HAD to be said.

I hate shopping

I took my eldest daughter shopping to super wal-mart today. Now just so you know I do not shop ever. I have not shopped (other than for tools or beer) in 12 years. I don't like shopping. I hate spending money on stupid stuff (food, clothes, soap etc). So basically this is torture to me but it had to be done.
the first thing I encounter is this women trying to park, not moving, blocking a lane, waiting for someone to load her car. Sorry but truly aggravating. I park 2 spots away from this lady and enter the store about the same time she pulls into the space.(lazy people suck). Now, I'm in a Wal-Mart super store that I've never been to in my life and I'm trying to find a certain department. So where are the maps???? I ask a lady, "Where is the ___ area?" and she goes, "I'm sorry, I work in THIS department and I'm not quite sure what you're asking me. Now, I'm not asking directions to the Science Museum or the Metrodome, and I understand that this is a big building, but...Come ON, you work here lady! Luckily my eleven year old was with me and had actually shopped in this store before and knew even better where to find things than an employee of said store. Thank God we're done with that shopping trip. Now I don't have to go shopping for another 10 years or so.
